Little Red Book of Sales Answers: 99.5 Real World Answers That Make Sense, Make Sales, and Make Money By Jeffrey Gitomer
You have to love a book that has a title that contains 18 words. Another thing about this book is that it’s a work of art, full color pages, fabric cover, it’s something you want to carry with you. You heard the saying never judge a book by it’s cover. Well this book is so beautiful you think to yourself, man it must totally suck. So I kept walking by it, and with every visit to the book store I would pick it up and flip through it and walk away. In fact there is a whole series of these books all with different color covers, so inviting, yet so intimidating.
Recently a friend told me that this book is really worth reading, so trusting his judgement I picked it up.
Drum role please……….
The Little Red Book of Sales Answers does not disappoint. It’s great, a lot of stuff you have heard before and a lot of things I found new. What makes this book so great is Jeffrey’s writing style, he is totally in your face, kind of like your coach in a book. He’s there to kick you in the but when you need it. I really enjoyed this book and plan of reading all Jeffreys books. There are so many sales books out there that preach the same old shit, but this books does it a little different, it confirms what you know and teaches you new stuff. And best of all it’s a solid kick in the ass.
Loved it.
Soft Sell By Tim Conner
Sales books, Sales books everywhere but which one should I buy?
Soft Sell The New Art of Selling might very well be one of the best sales books ever written. This book is packed cover to cover with some great knowledge on the art of selling in more of a consulting manner, it is by far the best sales book I have ever read; an enjoyable easy to read and engaging read.
What I like most about this book is that it covers all the aspects of selling from opening to closing and building customer loyalty.
The title of this book really says it all “Soft Sell”, and really sends a message to all you white shoe car lot salesman out there that continue to be pushy, pushy, pushy.
Soft Sell is a must have tool for any salespersons library.
Secrets of the Great Rainmakers by Jeffrey J. Fox
If you’re in sales or own your own business I’m certain you have purchased a book or two about sales, believe me there are more than enough out there. I’ve read a lot myself over the years, many old and outdated with techniques that will never work in this day and age.
Secrets of the Great Rainmakers was recommended to me by a friend, and since I love to read I ran out and picked up a copy. I was not disappointed, from start to finish the book was great, easy to read and packed with a lot of tips. My rule of them in any learning is if I can pick up just one tip, just one; I see it as a success. This book passed my test and more.
I’m so tired of reading sales books that give you scripts to use for cold calling, and you sit there and know they will never work. The tactics in this book gives great tips on making appointments and in a professional manner, not a cheap salesman way.
The industry of sales has changed, gone are the days of the Zig Zigglar pushy sales ways, sales people are taking on the roles of consultants.
Whether you have been in sale, thinking of getting into sales or have been afraid of sales, then this book is a must read.
The Wal-Mart Effect By Charles Fishman

This website is about books on business, motivational and sales related. Why review The Wal-Mart Effect you ask. Because I have to, this book is amazing, it’s jaw dropping and after reading it you will either respect the hell out of Wal-Mart or never shop there again.
After reading this book the first time (I read it 5 times) I swore I would never shop there again, but the low prices brought me back. I did some tests myself. A small package of rubber bands at Office Depot $2.50; the same exact brand at Wal-Mart .99. A six pack of Slim-Fast at Publix $7.80, at Wal-Mart $5.00. How the heck do they do it? The Wal-Mart Effect will show you.
This book inspired me and pissed me off at the same time, as you read you will get the impression that Wal-Mart is bullying the manufacturers to get the lowest price, but in reality the manufacturers let it happen to themselves.
The book is an enjoyable look at the Wal-Mart business plan. Each chapter features a different business that has been affected by the Wal-Mart Effect. Although Wal-Mart was totally against this book and gave no info to the author, it’s not all doom and gloom. Wal-Mart has been the success behind many small businesses that may not be in business today without them.
I found the book enjoyable and motivational, some chapters pissed me off and even today I think about the book when I walk into a Wal-Mart. It’s a good read and should be added to your business book library.

Internet Riches By Scott Fox
This is one of those books you see on the bookshelf at your local book store, glance at and walk away if you have a job or business you love. The first time I saw the title I was put off, because I figured it was targeted to people who didn’t have a job or source of income. You know the type, the people who get caught up in those multi-level marketing companies, with promises of being a millionaire, sitting back on a beach and cashing checks. One look at the cover of this book and that’s the impression you get.
But in reality, it happens to be a very good book. It’s very well written and easy to follow-along. Whether you already have an Internet business or are interested in getting one, Internet Riches gives a lot of great examples of where and how you can get started. This is another book I both read and listened to using the audio book, which the author Scott Fox reads.
Either way this is one of those books that you don’t read only once, you may read it cover to cover the first time, but more than likely you will go back time and again to read individual chapters. It’s a fantastic resource for any business owner or soon to be business owner entering the online world.
What Would Google Do? By Jeff Jarvis
There are a ton of books published and being published on this new media world we live in. It’s called the Google era, a world where everything rests on the power of Google and the social networks. So much rests on the power of Google, and in the business world you don’t have much of a choice than to get your business aligned with it. Those that do will succeed, but those that don’t will fall. There was a time, years ago when a small local business didn’t have to worry about the Internet, they just did their thing, ran their local business and were happy. But today that has all changed, and even the smallest local business has no choice but to find their way into the Googleverse and stay and try and claw their way to the top.
What Would Google Do? By Jeff Jarvis, just might be the best book I have read on this Google world we live in. What makes this book so great is Jeff breaks down each chapter by industry. This makes even the smallest of business owners see the advantages that Google can bring to their business. I guess what makes this book so entertaining and educational is that opens your mind on how you can use Google to your advantage.
The funny thing is that I walked past this book for months in the bookstore and on Amazon thinking it was just another book about how big and mighty Google is. I was wrong, the book captured my attention in the first chapter and never let go, it taught me new ways to use this powerful marketing tool that is Google and opened my eyes to change the way I think about certain things. Jeff covers other companies in the book as well, companies like Apple and Facebook and really opens the readers eyes to that using the new media tools can only help you grow.
This book is ideal for any level of knowledge in this new media playing field, whether you are brand new or experienced you are sure to find great ideas in this book.
What Would Google Do? Should be required reading for anyone in business.

Twitter Power By Joel Comm
Twitter is one of the most popular social networks, making it the topic of a host of books on the topic, everything from how to use Twitter to celebrity tweets. But of all the titles on the market, I have yet to find one as good as Twitter Power. The author Joel Comm does a nice job of explaining what the heck this Twitter thing is and gives great explanations on how to use it, not only personally but for business as well.
I loved this book so much that after reading it, I went out and bought the audio version as well. I find myself listening to selected chapters all the time when in the car or working at my desk.
What I loved most about this book is the many examples given for using Twitter to get the best results from it. If nothing at all this book will educate you and inspire you.

Free By Chris Anderson

Free by Chris Anderson was one of the best books I have read in a long time, if you are a small business owner thinking about the next big thing or even trying to come up with some ideas to take your business to the next level, then this book will get you thinking.
There are so many websites out there that offer free services and the question I often hear being asked is “how do they make money”? Free will answer those questions. If you have any interest in the web 2.0 world this book will lead you down a path of creative thinking that might even make you change the way you do things in your business now.
Some of the companies featured in this book will surprise you, because they are not the today Internet companies you might expect. Although most of the businesses in this book are web based, you could incorporate some of these ideas into your traditional brick and mortar business.
Free will make you rethink the old way of doing business and perhaps ignite some ideas you can incorporate into your business today.
I loved this book from start to finish and would recommend it to any small business owner looking to get into the new way of marketing your business.
